3D video card differences: Canopus & Monster?

by sli.. » Fri, 13 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Could someone please fill me in on the performance differences
between the Canopus Pure 3D and Diamond Monster 3D? Advantages &
disadvantages?
I'm thinking of adding a 3dFX card to my Pentium 133 to use as a
'backup' system, after I upgrade to my new system. My P133 currently
has a Matrox Millenium (original) as my video card. Is this compatible
with the above two 3D add-on cards?
  TIA.

Rob, I have no experience with the Monster 3D, I do understand it is a good
card and comes bundled with some cool games. I decided on the Pure 3D for it's
extra 2MG of RAM for texture rendition. I also use the TV out occasionally. The
Pure 3D works very well along with my Millenium II, was very easy to install
and is one of the best additions you can make to your system.  Don
