Problems with NROS

by Rob and Allison Smit » Fri, 21 Nov 1997 04:00:00

I tried to use my ISP connection (AT&T Worldnet) to race NRO, and it kept
booting me out right before going to the track.  I "pinged" the ten site &
also checked the # of hops to the ten site.  Neither of these were the
problem.  The problem comes when the ten network shuts down my windows
resident programs in the name of memory conservation.  It also shuts down my
Worldnet dialer!  I have tried to shut down everything else before signing
in and it still shuts it down.  I have a 200MHZ,32RAM with a 33.6 modem.  If
anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it!  I wrote to ten support,
but haven't heard anything yet!  I did successfully sign on with TEN's
connection, but would rather use my own ISP!

Question: Your Worldnet Dialer gets shutdown at what point? When you
log onto TEN or when a race is launched?

Question: Are you able to race when you dial direct (not via the net)?
