N4-FF settings ??

by Daddyo6 » Mon, 12 Nov 2001 11:41:44

Finally wore out the old TM pro and picked up a MS sidewinder today. Tried the
MOMO and the wheel felt great but the pedals need help. Couldn't justify the
extra 100 bucks IMHO. My question, since this is my first FF wheel....what
settings are good to start with in N4 with FF wheel? All suggestions
appreciated.

N4-FF settings ??

I have two setups running N4 with different wheels , an actlabs rs force and
an early guillemot ferrari branded wheel. So no advice specific to your
wheel from me :-)
generally i have them both setup for less ff in n4 than for say,
gpl...   about 40 percent in the n4 control options.. damping is low too ,
about 10 percent  ..
In the windows settings for the ff  the two wheels are set up
differently, generally the ff is set higher in the sct labs than the
guillemot.
I think getting the ff so it doesnt want to wobble if you let go of the
wheel is a good plan. It may be useful in gpl but in N4 it's gonna slow ya
down..  Finally getting the steering ratio right for the size of wheel
you've got is gonna help you be less twitchy , and you dont want that as
well as having to cope with the ff induced wobbles!..
