Hi all ,
I posted this before and it seems  to have dissappeared
I have tried everything to get this game to run , but nothing works.
Latest drivers for sound and video , fresh install, latest direct x ,and it
stillboots to desktop when the loader bar at the top of the screen gets
almost
all the way across just before you get in the car at the track.
i emailed EA and they sent a couple of emails with some suggestions to try
and still nothing. Then the 3rd email they sent was the same as the first .
Damn auto
responders. I dont really care about the F1 part of it but i really wanted
to try out
the Lemans mod, and the other stuff thats out there .

Thanks ,
BillK.

Just got back online after a troublesome weekend...missed an LeMans
practice and missed a Bullrun practice...I'm screwed!  However,  I'm
wracking my tiny brain to think of things that would cause it to crash..
First, make sure in the difficulty options, you choose a 'random' starting
posistion.  Then in the graphic page, make sure the Pitcrew is set to the
lowest setting.  Set the weather to dry...mainly just to eliminate another
varible.
I have my install on a 2nd HD...drive F:\ to be precise, but I left the
rest of the install path exactly the same....
F:\program files\ea sports\f1 2002\
Turn off FSAA(again another variable reducer)
squash background programs(Enditall2 works great for this)
choose a built in track...try different cars...ANYTHING that might alter the
resulting crash.  (turn off replays etc)

I have done the random thing , the pit thing , the dry thing ,
havent tried the 2nd hd thing though so ill give that a shot.
I do run enditall too.
FSAA off ,no replays ,different cars, and so on.
Thanks very much for the help so far though :o[)
I'll keep plugging away at it

If it turns out to be like my internet screwup this weekend, the final
solution will be very simple and very obvious....Hope we find it...

Give details on your rig pleae specially your video card & drivers.

You turned FSAA off in 3D set-up?

Did you turn it off ALSO indisplay properties?

Your game crashing when the progress bar reaches the end generally means a
video problem.

What Screen resolution, bit rate & screen refresh rate have you chosen in 3d
Config?
