Frame rates plummet when there is a big pile-up on the track...

A) I hope this can be patched to some degree.

B) has anyone figured out whether it is the video or the CPU (or maybe it's
50-50) taking the hit at this point?

Thanks,

Marc.

Same thing happens offline in GPL too, Marc.  Must be due to all the AI
drivers cursing at each other simultaneously in too many different
languages.  Or dialects, in N4; ever heard Jeff Burton speak? ;-)

Its the smoke, dirt and damage effect to the cars. Uncheck smoke dirt, etc
in graphics options.

LOL, me being one of the good ole boys from his neck of the woods, it's the
fact that he usually has a pinch between his cheeck and gums, a mouthful of
marbles and the fact that he's just happy y'all came to visit that he sounds
uncomprehendible. Notice that most times he's smiling it gets worse? When
he's upset, he's more understandable.

A thing about the marbles, it's a reference to when you have a problem with
dry mouth. We used to pick up a few creek pebbles and stick them in our
mouth to help with the natural salivation process. Also a quick fix to being
thirsty on a hot day. I'm not saying that's what he is doing, but it sounds
like it when he talks and look at his jaws most of the time.

I've always contended that the sounded like he "had a mouth full of
marbles". Just count me as one those backwoods boys too, lol.

Jeff gave an interview once and that subject was broached.  His quick reply was
that he grew up in the other end of the house.
