Screamin 3D and GP2:Major drop in frame rate.....

by Harald Boer » Sun, 28 Sep 1997 04:00:00

I have a P100 with 16MB RAM. When I use a Genoa Videoblitz 3AV 2MB Vram
with the S3 Vision 968 chipset I had a framerate of 16,8 in a certain
setting. Now with the Sierra Screamin' 3D with 4 MB RAM I go back to a
shocking 9,8 with less detail.......

Now lucky me plays almost only NASCAR2/ICR2 so I am not that upset.
But.......
is there something I miss? Are there any specific drivers? I searched all
over the web but couldn't find any. Any help appreciated! For now.... back
to C***te Motor Speedway!

Cheers,

Harald

You need to use the manual setting of framerate in the graphics options.
Your Rendition card ''looks'' very slow to GP2 when it is trying to
estimate your graphics performance, actually it is quite quick so you
should be able to manually set your framerate where it was before.

Oops...... You're absolutely right! No drop of framerate or whatsoever!
This is embarrasing......
