I would say it's your CPU. GP2 doesn't use Rendition 3D code, it use
standard VESA code. The sierra card is OK with VESA (I have this card
myself), although not outstanding (there are a lot of boards with much
better SVGA speed), combining this fact with the fact that GP2 is very
much dependent on CPU speed gives us a receipt for fast GP2 action: Use
the K6!!! What kind of processor occupancy combined with framerate do
you get? I always go driving with frame rate of 25 fps, the game is much
more playable with high framerate...
GP2 reports extremely low SVGA speed, but this is of course a false
alarm (on my computer I can double the speed reported)...
The Sierra card is very good, if you are into racing sims, you'll have
to try IndyCar2, currently one of the very best sims (the graphics/speed
is probably the best)!
