If you're getting this with a geforce card, it must be laughable on a
voodoo3.  I'll be waiting to see results on the next gen video cards, a
geforce2 doesn't seem like its worth the money to me.

Just out of curiosity, why are you not running with FSAA? (um, at the
800x600 level, I can understand why not at 1280x960 <g>).

Hey, thanks rrevved for the results.  Yeah I know most people don't use 42
cars but it's just for testing purposes to see the difference and yes N4
likes CPU speed more than a video card.  I'll be interested to see a Gforce
2 Ultra on a slower Processor to see how it compares to your results.  The
added AI cars do cause a CPU performance hit, but they also cause a Video
hit albeit, it looks like more of a CPU hit at this point.  Thanks also for
the comparison between 800x600x16 and 1280x960x16.  Sometimes the 1280 gets
higher FPS than the 800 setting in some games but doesn't look like it does
in N4.

Everything else being equal, with a GF256 I get faster framerates in OpenGL
than with D3D.

Interesting, what are your system specs for your computer and such?

Not yet, no.  I'm trying to put together a wheel round up for a car
magazine, so this might be one of the titles I test them on (Force RS
and shifter arrive next week, *really* looking forward to that <g>).

Mostly lurking in the newsgroup...I really feel out of place. ;-)

Sorry to get in late, but I have noticed a big varience in frame rate from
track to track.  Some of the tracks I average in the high 20's but others
routinely dog me down near the ***s.
