N2 restrictor plates ????

I have read in a few place that you can remove the restrictor plates at
Taladega by editing the "spdwy" line in the track file. I found this
line and did the change but when I then went and started the game and
tried it out I was not getting any better results than before. Has
anyone tried this with any luck? Did I do something wrong?

Pleas e-mail me if you can be of any help

Thanks
Mike

In Nascar 1 (I haven't tried it in 2), change the first number
in the Spwy line from a 0 to 1, or vice-versa.  It worked fine for me.
I hit 225 before the motor exploded.  Good luck.

I have edited also and saw a huge difference, You will also have to
change 4th gear to take avantage of the new power range.

I modified the file in N2, and didn't see ANY difference in the speed at
all.  Apparently there's more
to just setting a number to 0 in N2.

But I shouldn't really need to change anything to notice the difference,
unless Sierra has changed
they way it works.  In N1, I could blow the engine really easy if I didn't
use a taller 4th.

In N2, though, I got the same speeds as before, even with changing 4th.

I removed the plate and got 232 MPH down the back stretch, but coming into
turn # 3 I hit the wall and skinned myself up. I also run a 3.20 gear in
forth and put a windspeed of 30 mph blowing down the backstretch. But this
is not for the timid.....

No offense taken...

I had thought I'd saved it.  I went back in after getting some sleep, and
it worked like a charm, so
I dunno...<shrug>
