ICR2 Rendition

I have ICR2, and recently installed a Herc Thriller.  I would like to know
how get/setup/run the Rendition accelerated version of ICR2.  Any help and
details are appreciated.

Since noone has responded, let me rephrase:

Do I have to buy CART racing (even though I already have Indycar Racing II)
to get the Rendition-ready version, or is there a "patch"  to let the
original ICR2 make use of Rendition acceleration?

I am just about positive that this card does not use the Rendition chip. It
will
therefore NOT run this Rendition version of ICR2.

I've got an Intergraph 3D100 with the Rendition chip and its great for ICR2
and
Nascar2. I hear there's some newer Rendition cards out there. Regardless,
the
Rendition version of either game will not work with that card unless it has
a Rendition chip.

Cheers

Joe

Gary,

I received these instructions from Sierra support after I purchased my
Rendition card, they worked like a charm.

     http://www.sierra.com/support/

2) Uncompress the file.

3) Copy the INDYCAR.EXE file from the patch to the IndyCar Racing 2
directory replacing the existing file.

4) Finally, you must copy the file SPD3D.UC ( which is required by all
Rendition games) from the directory of one of your other DOS based Rendition
games (i.e. Quake) to the IndyCar Racing 2 directory.  The exact SPD3D.UC
file the rendition version of ICR2 uses is dated 9/10/96 although other
versions should also work.

5) Switch to your IndyCar Racing 2 directory and type INDYCAR <Enter> to
start the game.

NOTE: This version of the game will default to the DMA version.  To play
this version your motherboard MUST support PCI standard version 2.1.  To use
the non-DMA version you must start the game with this switch:
     INDYCAR -grn1f

They also placed this disclaimer at the end of the instructions when they
sent them to me..

This version of the game is NOT supported by Sierra On-Line Technical
Support or Sierra On-Line, Inc.

Remember the ALAMO
and the days before the 24.

>  Don't worry, the Hercules Thriller IS a Rendition card.  Be advised tho,

that ICR2 likes
the older V1000 cards.  The V2200 Hercules cards are very fast but ICR2 is
somewhat
incompatible.  You'll need to do a couple of fixes to get the dma 3d
Rendition stuff to work
with the newer Rendition cards.  Check out www.bjorn3d.com and go to the
hints section,
he's got most of the files you need.  good luck have fun.
