SB64 Gold + Indycar II = no joystick

I just installed a SB 64 Gold in place of my old SB 16.  I was running ICR2 from Win95,
using a shortcut to drop into "dos".  I have the sound working fine (had to set it to a
static IRQ setting), but for some reason, the joystick has disappeared, not being
detected from within ICR2 on 1 or 2.  It works fine from Win95, showing up as joystick
1.  The only thing I changed was the soundcard, (and of course the win95 drivers).  Any
thoughts (besides wanting ICR3 - please)?
