Yes, a newer video card would definitely help.  When I upgraded my
P133 to a C300A, I was still using the same card as you for a while.
The video card was such a bottleneck, overclocking to 450 MHz had *no*
effect on the frame rate.  Upgrading to a Hercules Thriller 3D
8meg/AGP helped frame rate a lot.  Retail about $140, white-box/OEM
about $90.  Being a Rendition chip (V2200), it's great for Papyrus
sims, but doesn't have much other *** support.  The Genoa Raptor
cards are similar.  Get the 8 meg version, it runs GPL significantly
faster than the 4 meg.

The Banshee or Voodoo2 are also good options.  They would give you
3Dfx/Glide support, which many games currently use.  The Banshee is
2D-3D (replaces your I3D100), while the 3D-only Voodoo2 would work
with your current video card (a good solution if you still run
ICR2/CART Racing, since the V2200 has some video glitches with this
sim).

"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." ---- Jim Clark

It's simple. Follow Alison Hine's advice and get a 8 meg Hercules
Thriller. I did, even though I had 2 Voodoo2 12 mg. Frame rate on my
200MMX with 64 meg. RAM went up to 35-36 while racing with 9 cars, with
clouds, skid marks, driver's arms off, mirrors set to cars only. With
Voodoo2s the top was 25.

If papy sims are your priority then get the 8 meg thriller, however if you
also want support for most new game son the market with 3dfx get a voodoo2. I
have been running the thriller for 6-7 months. It improved my p200 but GPL got
really right when I upgraded to a celeron 300a overclocked to 450! now GPL is
unfreaking believable! well worth the $250!

Although the Voodoo2 is a good card, the Banshee is probably
a better all-round choice.  It's based on the V2 architecture, but
clocked faster, so has better performance.  It lacks the V2's
second texture unit, but this is only important in games that use
single-pass multi-texturing (e.g. Quake2, Unreal).  No sims that
I know of use this.  The V2 is also limited to a resolution of 800x600 (up
to 1024x768 in SLI) while the Banshee supports resolutions up to 1600x1200
out of the box.  Banshee also has 16MB on-board RAM which is configured in a
unified memory architecture allowing the 16MB to be  dynamically allocated
between frame-buffer, z-buffer, textures etc as needed.  V2 cannot do this;
it is limited to a static 4/2/2 or 4/4/4 configuration which means that a
lot of RAM is going to waste a great deal of the time.  Banshee also has an
inbuilt 2D part with a 250MHz RAMDAC, giving it some of the best 2D in the
business.
