I just found GPLRank yesterday and after spending one hour on Rouen, Mosport
and Kyalami where I did not have a proper time (well, looking at my handicap
I don't have proper times at any tracks) I managed to get my handicap "down"
to 154.31 (yeah, thats crap, but I was very happy... :-)
Then I tried Nurburgring... I cannot understand how I have months ago managed
to drive a 9:39 lap there as yesterday I could not get under 10 minutes. And
how can the best drive under 8 minutes...
Well, maybe the reason is that I am ***but I am working, I want to be
a little bit less crap. And GPLRank gives me good targets for that.

Pierre, you don't need to be anywhere near that fast to go online
racing, and you don't need to know all the tracks, just limit your race
entrys to the ones that you do know. What's asked is that you be in
control of your car: be able to hold a straight line during starts, be
able to keep it on the road and follow the racing line, and be
respectful of faster drivers when they come up behind you. Which simple
means, don't block, hold your line, be predictable, it's their
responsibility to pass you cleanly. I'm sure your ready to race right
now. You will find your learning curve will increase when you start
online racing as there are things you can only learn when racing
against real opponents, and the rush of online racing is HUGE.

I hate Kyalami. I can never remember which corner is which - there's
the one left-hander that looks like a fast 2nd-gear one and is actually
a fast 3rd-gear one; then later there's that corner which looks fast
2nd-gear and is actually much slower. Second only to Monaco (and
maybe Zandvoort) in my "hated tracks" list.

Sometimes. I used to hate Mosport, but I'm increasingly coming to like
it (mind you, taking nearly a second off my record last night may have
something to do with that). And I don't find Watkins Glen as
interesting as I used to. But Kyalami, Zandvoort and Monaco I've always
disliked; and Spa, Silverstone and Rouen I've always enjoyed.

Anyone else notice that GPL on Vroc helps with road rage? I mean if
you can laugh about it when some fellow racer plows into you at 100+
mph and . . . well they basicly kill you. Then that idiot that just
pulled out infront of you can't be all that bad, atleast your not
upside down on your helmet. :-)
