I changed the number in the TTYPE line in the track.txt files for
Watkins Glen and Sears Point from 4 (Roadcourse) to 3 (Superspeedway) to
try to increase the very slow pace lap speeds, however, it seems to have
no effect.  Any other ideas out there?

I suspect that the pace.lp file is limiting the speed during cautions ???
This is a guess - but I know that I have corrected big slowdowns at the
start finish line on yellow flags by editing the pace.lp file and bumping
up the speeds around the s/f line.  /THansen

All you are doing when changing the TTYPE line is changing the way the
game displays the
lap times.  Depending on what you change it to, you could display time or
speed.  Other than
that, I have no idea...

Change the last number on the PACEA line for the speed of the
parade/yellow flag laps.  I've set Watkins Glen to 60 and it seems alot
better.

Isn't this interesting.  I've often wondered why anyone would need to
change the track type.  Should this be embedded in the track.dat file.
I can understand why the pace lap speed should be in the track.txt file
and some of the other options, but why track type?

If you change the track type from road course to superspeedway, does
this mean that the pole sitter will be required to start on the left
instead of on the inside of T1?  Sears Pt doesn't matter but Watkins
Glen does.

All changing the TTYPE variable does is to change the way the time/speed
is displayed.  Say you
changed the TTYPE for Sears Point from 4 to 0.  It would change the
display from lap speed to
lap time.  This figure is arbitrary, just using it as an example.

Want to see a REALLY good example?  Change any converted INDY course to 0
for the TTYPE,
and watch the lap times change to lap speeds.
