NFSPU Frame rates and bad AI

Hey y'all

Here's my system:
celery 266 (cacheless) at 448
v3 3000
awe64
128mb ram

I find my frame rate drops ridiculously whenever there are enemy cars
ahead.  I mean the AI competitors, its fine with traffic.  I run at
800x600 in Evolution just for those rare times I actually have to close
and pass the AI.  Usually its not a problem as I find the AI PITIFUL to
say the least.
As a factory driver I can run 1024 with only small slow down in the
Industrial areas when the cops have the lights going.  Mainly because
its rare to have opponents in factory mode.

mebbe we'll see a glide patch for v3.....

I guess its probably time to start shopping for a new cpu...

ANd i gotta say the ugly green smoke sux, makes me wonder if it would
give off a blue flame if ignited! +)

Yes !

Your V3 matched with a new PIII will make you very happy. The AI is not
so bad, in some cases they're very hard to beat. They tend to take off
faster than you, but other than that....
