N2 Sound Problem after loading..Help

I presently have Nascar2 runing with a sound glich(sort of a machine
gun sound rat-tat-tat-tat-).
The only thing I have done recently was loaded Crew Chief and
Rockingham update...right after doing that my sound went south...
Does anyone know ,short of re-installing ,  just what I might be able
to do to correct this problem...Thanks in advance...:-)
