I have seen references to a patch to update ICR II to version 1.02. Can
anyone tell me what this patch does? I understand it takes care of a
problem with yellow flags, but I'd love to have a better description.

hello.
the patch fixes a lot of stuff. Even the intro has changed to a different
track
for one the cars are a lot eassier to handle. the readme.txt file that
comes with it
i think has a complete list. I'm using the rendition version now so i no
loger have the patch and i have a diffrent readme.txt or i would have sent
it to you. It's definetely worht the download and just downloading it will
be quicker than waithing for someone to answer you. Unless Eric Busch has
already been here ;)

For a description of the fix, go to the Sierra web site:

the patch adresses some problems about icr2 but not all. The
biggest fix is correcting a weight transfer bug that affects the car
after about 30 laps. you'll be humming along and suddenly ...WHAM!
your car goes loose. I had a 1/2 lap lead on a short oval with 4 laps
to go in a 25 lap race(very low opponent strength :) ) when the bug
first hit me...before the race was over, fokks who I had blown by were
blowing by me. Most people thought this was a tire temp problem but
weight transfer is the culprit. If you watch replays at Long Beach
you'll notice the AI cars running onto the grass and bouncing along
the pit wall that is a bug that is still in the patch. There are two
separate patches to fixe the paintkit. You can find those at most
places the ICR 1.02 patch is located. I never had much problem with
yellow flags so I can't comment on that, but there are several fixes
in the patch. However, the gossip on the web is that the patch didn't
fix everything and Papyrus is not planning on anymore updates. Or
even any more Indycar sequels.
