GP2: Modified game via link

I applied several patches to the original game on both of the
linked computers synchronously. These patches were car designs
(JAM files), teams and performance data.

The computers were connected, the link was established and the
computers "shook hands". However, when entering the actual game,
we always get a data transmission error.

When using the unmodified "***" version of the game, no error
occurs.

Has anyone successfully played a modified game over a null-modem
link?

I've played GP2 via modem with modified car/helmet jam files - same mods
for both myself and the guy at the other end. Maybe you should try one mod
at a time and link up after each mod. That way you should find out what mod
is causing the problem. I don't think it'll be the jam files tho', because
they aren't transmitted as data, it's probably just positional info.
