GP2 - LINK GAME MOAN

Hi there, all ya racefanatics

I am wondering why nobody has mentioned this before (or complained about
it).
While in a linkgame, like in GP1, you still can't go into carsetup
separately. I mean one is checking/changing/wondering_about his setup
while the other is still out on the track chattering laptime after
laptime.
This really sucks. This sure is one of the things that is better in
icr1-2 (BTW,notice the lowercase hehe).

Another major flaw in linkgame(it is in my opinion anyway) is that you
can't use performance data because you really need it to setup your
damper/springs correctly. Without it it's all just guessing (Well is
feels better, but is it really?).

For the rest GP2 is fantastic, for all the steering-realism (T2),
although it would be great if Geoff could manage to increase graphics
performance (my P120 is letting off steam from time to time)

Um, try again.  In F1GP you CAN go into car setups SEPERATELY.  I have
logged thousands of miles over the modem and can asure you that GP1 has
this feature.  At least in the US version.

Ex - Qualifying starts, we both head out for some flyers.  Either of us
finds that, damn, our car is oversteering too much.  Well, press Q on ONE
car to get back to pits (or drive it in for that realistic feel).  Then
PAUSE the game (with your partners approval first, of course).  Then the
person wanting to go to the setup menu does so WITHOUT interupting the
other player's flyer.  When the setup is done, the person on the track
selects UNpause and continues his/her flyer.  No harm, no foul.

Hey, it even puts up a nice message box that the other player is in the
garage.  Then when he exits, it disappears.

I have not tried it for GP2, but why would it be different?  Oh, there
might be a few more menus to get through, but it should work the same.

My biggest complaint about link games is that you
cannot select both comm port and interrupt
separately. Comm 1 and 3 have to be on interrupt
4 and comm 2 and 4 have to be on interrupt 3! Was
this game developed on an XT?

What Doug is saying is that the person on the flyer can't keep flying
whilst the other person is performing car setups. The game has to be
paused. That's what he means by can't do it separately.

If you understood that.
