Hello,

I have the 1.76 drivers loaded with my CL Ultra TNT2 card and can't
seem to get good frame rates with GPL. I only get 28 to 33 max at
640/480. I have tried to limit the mirrors to "8" but that doesn't
help much. I have heard of ppl getting 36 fps at 1024/768.
HOW ??? Thanks  for any help.

P.S. will the 1.81 drivers (when released) help ???

GPL & TNT2 ???

The later drivers are using the Pentium III commands and also 3dnow.
This helps a lot! 1.81 is a slight improvement, especially in the 3dnow
area. The 1.76 drivers were leaked onto the internet and I think the
OpenGL is the same as 1.81. The people who leaked 1.76 breached an NDA
and got told to remove them pronto. I doubt anybody who have the 1.81
will post them as they value the co-operation they get from the
manufacturers.

I remember years ago when some BETA software being distributed had a
unique and hidden code for each copy handed out. It made it easier for
leaks to be traced to the source. I have learned to be paranoid. I have
been asked for them and there are dozens of messages in the newsgroups
asking for them. Good luck finding them!

Mark;

Thanks for the responce. I wasn't asking for you (or anybody else) to send
me non released drivers. I can wait :-). I just want to know what I need to
do to fix this problem as I like GPL alot and thought that I should be
getting better performance from the TNT2 than I am seeing right now.
