Hi I'm one of the "idiots" who has just started posting since Adam posted a
possible demo for the 15th.  I subscribe to this news group because of the
great information often posted here.  One of the things that always kills me
about race fans is there often closed mindedness about which is the best form
of racing.  As a Go-Kart racer I have have participated in many different
forms of racing.  From sprint racing on asphalt, Sears Point and even oval
racing at Roseville.  I enjoy it all and I enjoy playing all forms of sim
racing.  Racing is racing.  I may not be a "real racer", but anyone who hasn't
tried Karting doesn't realize how close Karting is to real racing.

Patiently awaiting the demo,

Anybody who hasen't seen these guys race, is missing a great show. I however think it's a tad
dangerous for me. I saw a race on an oval at C***te, and in one race they took two people
away with broken necks.

But, toher than that, if you like a great race, go watch some karts.

I haven't done it for awhile but I am going to start racing radio
controlled
cars again this years.  Many people wouldn't consider that "real racing"
but
the way I see it, if the object is to go fast and get to the finish line
first
it is "Racing".  I find it amusing that some people don't consider kart
racers
"real racers".  I don't race karts and I wouldn't want to but it is
definitely
"real racing".  Apparently if you don't race in Winston Cup, Indycar, or
Formula 1 you must not be a real racer.  If I had the money and support
to
work my way through the ranks of professional racing I feel I could be
pretty
good on any level.  But I don't have the money to do that and not many
other
people do either.  So I race what I can and if the opportunity arises to
get
into other forms of racing I will take them.  Just like you said racing
is
racing.  I would race anything, anywhere.  Except a drag car, now this
is the
one thing I don't consider real racing.  This is nothing but a waste of
time
and good ***.  Drag racing is nothing but a big hole that people
throw
money into, and nobody cares about except the "racers" themselves.

I'm not worried about being flamed by fans of drag racing, they will be
too
busy waxing their cars to bother.  If it wasn't the truth it wouldn't
hurt
anyway.

As a fellow Kart racer who has driven drag cars and stock cars in the
past I agree with you 100% as far as I'm concerned the only difference
between a Kart and a race car is size :)!
