GP3 Wishlist - 31 people - is that all?

by Michael La » Wed, 03 Nov 1999 04:00:00

Hi!
GP3ZONE's wishlist at http://www.racesimcentral.net/ will be sent to Hasbro on the
20th of November, so if you haven't already contributed, please do! This is
GP3 we're talking about - and we can change the outcome of the game for the
better, and persuade Geoff Crammond include internet multiplayer, weather
factors, career mode...the list is almost endless. But we cannot - and will
not - make any impression whatsoever with only 31 people! We need to double
that amount, so please vote at the wishlist!!!!!!
If everyone, who has even only the slightest interest in GP3 made a wish -
we could make GP3 for the better. I'm not doing this for my own benefit - I
am genuinely concerned that GP3 will probably not, include a internet
multiplayer function, and I hope you agree with me.

Here are the most popular wishes on the wishlist so far:
Internet multiplayer (13 votes)
Stop and Go penalties (9 votes)
Wet weather (this is almost certain) (8 votes)
Specific driver behaviours (Schumacher aggressive, Villeneuve bad in wet
tracks etc) (7 votes)
Personal engineer helping with car setups (7 votes)
Ability to stall engine (At start and in gravel) (7 votes)
Wind, rain, temperature, air pressure and humidity factors in GP3 (6 votes)
Safety Car (5 votes)

These are the most popular wishes on the wishlist. I could list them all,
but there are 72 different wishes in total!

Thanks,
Michael

GP3 Wishlist - 31 people - is that all?

I can't imagine any features being added if the program is even close
to a shipping form.  Most program features are sketched out, a dream
list is made, then pared down to a do-able list and finally a cost
effective list.  By the time a program is in code form there is little
chance that large revisions could or would be worked into the code.
Lists like these should have been compliled and sent in when GP3 was
first announced.  (even then, knowing Crammond, most of his code was
probably already inplace)

Can't hurt anything so I sent in an e-mail.  I hope the game is close to GPL in
physic realism.  I don't like the in car views I have seen to date as it looks
like an in-car view of Papyrus' Indy car racing.  I love the Grand prix Legends
widescreen look and the ability to see the outside of the tires and the edge of
the road.

Yup, you're right.  Netscape 4.7 only shows the HTML code.

In what way was it a disgrace?

What else was around at that time that even came close to GP2?
Just curious to hear you qualify your statements

Wish #1: Port the thing to Linux. #2: A linux port would be nice.
#3: document  the data specs so people can create add-ons painlessly.

31 people isn't much though, considering the GPL-Linux port petition
got over 200 signers. (in case you haven't yet, point your browser to

Hi,
You have a valid point. But GP3 is scheduled for a March 2000 release, so
they do have plenty of time still to make any changes. Just the internet
mulitplayer feature....that is the main reason why I did the wishlist in the
first place - I want - and many other people want - free internet
multiplayer - and at the mo' it seems like we're not going to get it.
Thanks,
Michael

I think everybody interested in the game should participate in the list. C'mon, there's
nothing to lose and much to gain. Release date is March '00, and probably it will be
delayed sligthly further which means we have enough time to (possibly) make a difference.

It's only a few minutes time and a couple of sentences!
