Unfinished GP3 to be released on 10/31?!?!

Sorry if this has been posted before, but this has to be the worst news I've
heard in a while.  Lets hope it's just a rumor.

From http://www.racesimcentral.net/ :

Sept. 21

"Sources close to Hasbro are stating that Grand Prix 3 may even be released
as early as October 30th!

If not for December, for the christmas market.
It has been said that the game will be left as it is, and that 3D
acceleration will be added in for the release.

Hasbro have been reported to be pushing Geoff and that they really want it
out for the christmas market.

It was be released as now, and that a patch updating to the 1999 season, and
other game fixes will be out just in time for the 2000 season in March.

The general reaction from the Racing sim community is that this is bad news,
as we would rather see a completed, but not rushed version, even if it is
not out until the 1st quarter in 2000.
Personally I think this will be bad news, as I would want THE ultimate sim.

There is also going to be NO demo, as with Grand Prix 2.
This was proven in an e-mail from Hasbro when somebody asked.

I feel that the game is nearly complete, and that the '60%' quote was a
backup if the game was delayed.
Sources have said that Hasbro have always intended on releasing Grand Prix 3
in the Autumn, and that the 2000 date was a 'fallback' in case things should
go wrong."

Geoff Crammond has an unbroken record of writing extremely playable
games.

I will be among the first to support Geoff by buying Grand Prix 3.

I played Revs on the BBC until I got cramps in my hands, and that
wasn't a patch on GP2. I really don't mind paying for an upgrade to
GP3 at a later date that has extra bell's and whistles

The sooner the better!!

Any news on online/modem play with GP3?  That's the one big gripe I had
with GP2, otherwise I loved it.
