One very major improvement over GP2 would be varying ammounts of body damage
(ie not damage on/indestructable as in GP2 currently). GP3 could include a
setting where you could select how strong the car was. In GP2, even when you
turn indestructable off, the car is still unrealistically VERY strong - I mean
how many F1 cars do you see in real life collide with a barrier at 100mph+ and
remain intact? GP3 could still include `indestructable`, the current `arcady`
setting and `realistic` where the car can take minimal damage before
retirement. Also the option to do a `parade` lap would be cool. You could then
warm up your tyres, and run the risk of overheating your engine when
stationary after the lap. Also jump starts and penalties could be implemented
(the driver has to stop in the pits for 10secs if he is black flagged/jump
starts etc). The computer intelligence has improved greatly from GP1, but
still backmarkers do not pull over when a leader is about to lap them. A `blue
flag` feature could be included, so that backmarkers do visibally slow
down/move over when you come up behind you, and similarly, you should be shown
the blue flag if a leader approached you from behind. A network option is
imperative in todays games - maybe support for up to 8 human players or more
should be considered over ethernet or TCP/Internet links (as well as null
modem still). What about a virtual***pit, where your `head` moves as the car
turns through a corner to increase visibility. The car LCD display could
easily be mapped onto a moving***pit during the game. If any of these
suggestions are included in the next game, the games playing experience of
actually `being there` will be greatly improved.
