website......."LiveWare Version 3.0"......(previous was version 2.0...patched up
to version 2.1)
I'm not sure how long these have been "posted"....I visit about once or twice a
month....just saw them this morning. I can't put the URL up here for the
site.......because you have to be "registered" to enter and DL from the Creative
site......but its free so do it if you haven't already.
This is just a "heads up"......for all you SB Live sc users.
TP
P.S. For all you N3 racers.......I will have the "road course" version of the
High Gear N3 SoundPak available on the High Gear website (www.simracingnews.com)
on Nov 1st. This will also have the "spotter" sounds enhanced (increased volume
and "presence") for those running surround sound systems and having trouble
hearing the spotter over the engine sounds........ The current High Gear N3
SoundPak available at High Gear now (and for the last month or so) is an engine
sound better suited for the super speedways....like Tally and IMS.....and on Nov
1 that SoundPak will be changed to include the new spotter enhanced sounds also.
The enhanced fx sounds (gear shift, crash, wheel spin, etc) will be the same in
the new "road course" SoundPak. So, this means you can archive a copy of the
sound16.dat file under a folder called "SuperSpeedway N3 Engines"....and another
under "Road Course N3 Engines"....then just paste and copy the one you want to
run into your N3/Sound directory....bingo...you've changed engines!
These SoundPaks for N3 are enhanced specifically for the SB Live and MX300 sound
cards....but they can be used by any sound card/speaker system.....you'll just
not get the full benefit of all of the enhancements.
My apologies to the several thousand of you who have downloaded the N3 SoundPak
from High Gear....and asked me if I could do something to help the N3 spotter
sound's volume. This has taken longer than I thought....since there are about
580 individual spotter .wav files and each one takes about 5 minutes to
re-record and increase the base volume! The "road course" engines have been
done for some time now....but the spotter sound files are dragging me behind!
Sorry.
P.S.S. There's a GPL SoundPak available at the High Gear website too......for
those of you who have recently obtained GPL or have reinstalled it. Nearly 15
thousand people have dl'd the GPL SoundPak....so you might want to give it a
try.
