New Puter advice and Nascar 2003

Hello, I have been out of sim racing and online *** for awhile and
am gonna buy new Computer in after Christmas.
I will be primarily playing Nascar 2003 flight sim, WW2 games and any
decent racing game that has online playability. My old computer just
never cut the mustard with N2003.
WIll a Quad core system with 2 gigs of ram , 256mb or more graphics
card running vista be ok ????? I know it's overkill but is there any
issues will it run this older game(N2003)?

You'll probably get 7000fps in NASCAR 2003. <grin> Although it will
partially depend on *what* graphics card you're talking about. You can
get some slow cards with 256KB on them.

Save some money and get a Logitech G-25 wheel, a Logitech G15 ***
keyboard (so you can see who you're talking to when using Teamspeak),
and a good joystick for those flight sims. The peripherals can make a
big difference in your *** performance and enjoyment.

I'd suggest you try finding a reseller that installs XP instead of
Vista. Vista just isn't ready yet for serious ***, and you can get
most of the eye candy of Vista, but better security by installing say
ubuntu, opensuse or some of the many XP eye candy addons.

Maybe you even have a used copy of XP lying around that could be used
for such a purpose.

All the best, uwe

Your issue will not be the hardware it will be vista.  Some people have had
issues running N3 on Vista.

The problems with NR2003 in Vista are many. In my case, I could not run it
very well at all, even in the compatibility modes. It would just freeze or
reboot. I couldn't even get it to run long enough to experience the OTHER
issues that folks have had with it. My advise is that if you want to run
NR2003, go with XP.
