Errr, try GPII again, but this time turn off the 'steering help' and
'opposite lock' options in the configuration screens and *then* come
back and tell me that GPII is hard to spin!

F1RS reminds me of my first experience of ICR, there's a lot more 'play'
in the car and you can almost feel the momentum in a turn. In this
respect its more forgiving than GPII.

It's just a thought Randy, but it seems to me that the 'sag switch'
which you mention and the point at which the wheels start to spin
occur at different times.

Perhaps the sag switch is actually the game modelling the engine load.
It doesn't matter what rpm your running, back off a little and the
revs drop off significantly as the engine load becomes zero.  Power on
gently and as you reach the point where the engine has to start doing
some work, the revs increase significantly.

I agree though that it sounds a little wierd.

I've never driven f1rs, but i promise, if you don't have the setup right,
you can spin the car very easily is gp2.  Remember, it all depends on
setup.  Try puting a lot of front wing in , take all your rear wing off,
stiffen everything you can on the rear, loosen everything you can on the
front suspension, race at monaco or hungary, then tell me you can't spin
the car.  If you work with setups a lot more, you will find that a loose
setup is much faster, it is also harder to drive. Any good race driver will
tell you that a fast car is one that is hard to control.

(SNIP) nVidia OpenGL drivers, currently in Alpha 2 release. (They are
available at The RIVA USERS GROUP http://www.racesimcentral.net/)

Randy, that's bizarre because we have the same PC and I was able to make
work those Alpha2 driver. The Alpha1 didn't work.  And the Quake2 OpenGL of
my brother was very amazing. Well, No 2 PC are the same... I am starting to
understand that, but *** companies are not IMHO.

I don't know if you have NVTweak, but go get it. It's a fantastic utility
that made me correct the Cart:PR glitches and all those F1RS bugs (except
the black contours around textures). It's a must.

Good point. It will be interesting to see the changed performance
if/when they get this fixed.

Poor Widdle Byron forgot to mention his further experiences are limited to
the responses he has gotten to his holier than thou attitudes on the CPR
message board. < sigh> give it up go play have some fun.

I said this because, although a bug, it is easily overcome by simply
lifting off the throttle.

Not really.  If you lift off slightly and the revs plummet you could
be losing more speed than you want, particuilarly if you're just
trying to balance the throttle.

Did they just work or did you have to do anything special. (Its kind
of academic now that the 1.32 STB drivers are out)

I have NVTweak.  Are you saying you can use the rear view mirrors in
F1RS/D3D?

Actually, I think we're talking about different things. I was talking
about how when the car spins (normally on grass I think) that the car
spins about it's axis like a spinning top until you fully release the
throttle.
