GPL: I can't believe this game is still so popular

by Plowbo » Tue, 18 Jun 2002 09:10:34

Hey,

Im "Johny come back to GPL lately" and the part below I quote, but I dont
find the "essentials"   I see a sheet load of neat and new stuff but Im like
overwhelmed on what to get, what not to get!!!  is there really an
essentials list anyone could give me, as Im not in a big hurry to get racks,
but most of the stuff over time would be good.  what is an idea about 16 bit
gfx, should I have it with my p3-800 with G-F 2?

Man I wish papy would have leased the code used for WinVrock and implemented
similiar for thier online client...  wow that thing is awesome, everything
you ever needed to join or host a race online...  WOW!

again, as I found some 1000+ setups somewhere and I an restarting my
training when I can find time, at monza...

LOL you have to give me a tiny break though, I mean Im use to like 5 corners
max  <G> except the couple roadcourse in NR2002...

Im able to do 1.29.3? with  a eagle at the moment...  not consistantly but
at leas one lap each race is that fast...

thanks Jan,
Plowboy

What you say is fine; and I give credit to GPL for being a great game.  But
this is all opinion.  To someone else, Sega GT is the best game.  If you or
anyone else thinks GPL is the greatest racing simulation, that's fine.  But
you go beyond things when you say, categorically, any game is the best ever.
If folks don't get this rather simple concept, then there's nothing more to
say.

That's easy.

1. Links 2001

2. TW 2002

3. PGA 200 (or even PGA 2000)

You guys are something else.  I like LS, yes.  It's good, yes.  I think it's
the best, yes.  That's my opinion, yes.  But I don't resort to silly,
childhish, inane remarks like you guys do.  You guys think you control this
group and as soon as someone comes along who might not see GPL as God, you
get offended and resort to silly replies.

Whatever gets your goat, I suppose.  Sorry that I hurt someone's feelings--
I know I'm entering haloed ground.

I'm happy to discuss the merits of other titles, but you haven't actually
expressed a preference, other saying GPL isn't best.

Have an opinion and I'm sure most will be happy to discuss it. Some may even
agree with you. I'm sure it's technically possible ;-)

Try again, several people, me included, has stated that N2002 is a
superior sim to GPL, technically, and has never gotten any silly remarks
back

Beers and cheers

GPL is not really a normal game.. it's more like soccer (or American
Football if you are of that persuasion)
People have played soccer for ages and will still play soccer in 10-20 or 50
years. GPL is that kind of thing.
