I remember I had tons of fun playing this Formula 1 racing sim on my
286. It was made by Accolade, and I'm pretty sure it was called GPEGA.
Does anybody else remember this great game? Maybe an ftp site were I
could download it from? Thanks!

Ted,
Was it perhaps Grand Prix Circuit.  That was Accolade's
baby and it was in EGA.  Not a bad product, but if you
play any of today's stuff, you'll hate it and wonder
how in the world you thought it was great...I sure did
when I went back to play GPC...

Yeah, it probably was, I do remember that it was EGA. I thought it
was pretty awesome at the time and you're probably right: I would
hate it know. But it would sure be nice to bring back those old
memories when 286s with EGA monitors were state of the art.....

I have Grand Prix Circuit still lurking around on my hard drive
somewhere, but trust me - it's not even worth booting.  Maybe a decent
product in its day (though I don't even know about that - there's just
no sense of speed whatsoever), but no sense wasting time with it now
unless you're into 'incredibly primitive' ***. :-)

Wasn't it called Grand Prix Circuit? I remember I enjoyed it very much and I
played it almost everyday back then. Yeah, with a 286 and a CGA monitor.

I also remember there was an old F1 racing game called FERRARI F1 by EA. It has
tons of car setup options (with a wind tunnel test facility), even surpass
those of F1GP. However, the game was almost unplayable with any device you might
have (keyboard, joystick or mouse) based on yesteryear's standard.

Waiting for F1GP-2......

cheers,

Isaac:
It had frame rate problems, too.  Each frame would take you about a quarter of the way through a
turn which made steering a challenge to say the least... :)

Yeah but on an Amiga it was absolutley brilliant. The porting to the Pc killed
it. Pity it only run on an amiga with kickstart 1.2. If I could get one that
ran on KS 1.3 I would consider pulling the Amiga back out of its box!

Me three.
