Whiplash - old racing game question

Was this game ever released for consoles? This racing/stunt game rocked
in its time but for some strange reason never caught on.

I've googled and from what I gather the answer is, no.

I'm hoping I'm wrong so I can play it on my PS2.

Eh?

us by scribbling this gem of wisdom:

Note that this game was called "Fatal Racing" outside of North
America.
You might want to google for that, too.

<Gibs> When you kill 6 people in Unreal Tournament
it is "MonsterKill", In Quake3 it is "Excellent",
in Counter-Strike it is "Kicked by console"

Man, that was a great racing game.  Unfortunately, the version I had only
ran on a Voodoo 3D card (hardware specific).  I've never been able to find a
generic version that would run on current video hardware...

Check out 'Vanishing Point' - it has a stunt mode which is way better than
even Whiplash.  The Dreamcast version is absolutely stunning and still
stacks up against any current console game.  It was released for PSOne too
but I'm not sure if that version is any good (should work on your PS2).

I assume you've checked out Burnout 2 which is a similar type of game but
doesn't really have stunts as such.

Does Burnout 2 have jumps, ramps, banks, etc to make the driving more
eventful?

I have/had a direct3d version of Fatal Racing.

IMO it's a dumb arcade game with a very rudimentary drive model.

Understeery until it suddenly went oversteer and you could always
instantly correct it.

Not worth the effort.

You play it for the stunts, not for the driving model.

Next you're going to tell us Diablo is unrealistic because the bow
had infinite ammo. Right? :-D

Eh?  How and where did you get a D3D version of fatal racing?

That game was a MS DOS game....

I think he might have meant 3DFX version.
