GPL: filckery mouse!

by YUBS » Fri, 16 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Hi, I don't know if anyone has run into this problem (since I haven't
seen it mentioned here or in the read me) but my mouse cursor seems to
flicker. Whenever I click somewhere on the screen a "copy" of the cursor
will be left wherever I clicked and it'll sit there flickering. It
doesn't really harm anything, but sometimes GPL crashes for no reason
and I'm thinking that may be why. If anyone knows anything about this,
please fill me in!

    Thanks,
        -YUBS

I had the EXACT same problem with the new release candidate reference drivers
that came out this week.

I went back to the old version of the drivers until 3dfx get it fixed.

Seeyas on the track.

Try turning off all enhanced V2 features (trilinear something, etc.).

% ya, the Readme says something about the triple buffering and those features, and
% I've already checked them (to see that they were un-checked :)). The only thing I
% have on is Disable V-sync and disable SLI (since I don't have it). I'll try turing
% everything off and I'll write back..

You mentioned you were using the new Reference drivers.  Are these the
Diamond drivers or the 3DFX ones?  I didn't experience this with the
3DFX drivers and my CL Voodoo2, but did with the DirectX 6.0 beta
drivers.  The other thing you may want to try is turn off any fancy
features in your mouse driver (i.e., animated cursors, etc.).
