GPL: Separate joystick axes for brake/accelerator ?

GPL: Separate joystick axes for brake/accelerator ?

I have a T2 wheel, and it looks like if I press the brake at the same time
as the throttle, the one just cancels out the other, they aren't really
treated as separate inputs.

Does GPL simulate gas and throttle input separately, so would a different
wheel with separate axes for brake/throttle be better?  And what wheels out
there have this separate axes feature?

Yes, and for more info, the recent thread here "GPL: Right Foot Braking"
is debating the pros and cons of using separate axes at the same time.

Yes it does -- you have to change the profile setup of your controller
before starting the game-- dont use this for other driving games -- most
dont support it-

And indeed, the T2 by default has only 1 axis and the brake and
throttle just add up on that axis. So pressing them both will result
in... nothing.

GPL: Separate joystick axes for brake/accelerator ?

Yes, GPL can use split axes for gas and brake, and it is very convenient to
have a wheel, which can use this. When you brake and feed in some throttle,
you effectively change the brake bias more forward.
Unfortunately, the T2 has combined brake and throttle axes built in, but if
you aren't afraid of using a soldering iron look there:

GPL: Separate joystick axes for brake/accelerator ?

I modified my T2 wheel and I have seperate axis now.
It's NOT difficult, but watch out: I distroyed my ACM Gameport because I was
too lazy to switch off the PC every time I worked on the Wheel...

In the end I just bought a new Ferrari FF wheel, also because I don't have a
gameport on my soundcard and USB is faster anyway.

Karl

Anyone wanna buy a T2 wheel with split axis??
