Nice review but you don't make any comparisons to the Force RS.  Still
working on that "Ferrari vs ForceRS" article? ;)

I don't understand. I have the TM ferarri FF too, and mine perfectly centers
every time.  The forces left-right also seem to be equal.

I like the shift mod though!

TM Ferrari FF wheel review

Great review as usual Slot.  Could you tell us what the calibration range is
in GPL for the 3 axes for the old and the new wheel?

Well, I already know it is 1024 for the wheel, 256 for the gas and 1024 for
the brake on the old one.  You can tell us what it is for the new one.

And, can the old pedals be "wired up" to work on the new wheel?  I haven't
tried the new ones yet so will reserve judgement, but I really like the old
pedals.

Thanks,

Marc

The calibration range on the new wheel is determined by the new drivers and
I believe it's twice that of the old drivers (2048, 512 and 2048). I'll have
to check it again to be sure. I tried the new drivers but ended up using the
old ones because they're compatible with both Ferrari wheels and the Force
RS.

The pedals could be changed if you hard wire at the pots, but, as much as I
like the old pedals, the new ones are even easier to drive with once you get
the front elevated to a comfortable level.

Milan Poll

TM Ferrari FF wheel review

by Milan Poll » Sun, 23 Dec 2001 07:34:03

The main problem I have with the Guillemot wheel is that for instance in
NFSPU I can't feel force effects like from the engine when I'm not turning
the wheel. Those effects get stronger when turning the wheel, that just
doesn't feel realistic, like the force-feedback has a bit of play.

Is this different with the TM version ?

best wishes,

Milan

That was always my #1 complaint in GPL, too.  Unless you are turning the
wheel, you can't feel certain effects like rough ground (grass or track
edging).
