Hi all..I have a TSW using W98se. How come the generic driver won't work in
N2002? I am sure the direct input is better but wanted to try it. Used to
work in N4.

I am succesfully running generic driver with my TSW2 cup wheel in Win98se. I
am plugged into the gameport of a Turtlr Beach Santa Cruz audio card.  In
fact ,I started out running the DXdriver, and then switched over to generic.
Wheel seems a little smoother with generics. BTW did you make sure to pick "
Standard Gameport" under the Win98 joystick properties. Mine has two choices
and Dave at TSW told me to pick "Standard Gameport", and not any other.

This will only work with pure analog controllers.  The Papy driver won't
function with digital devices, unfortunately.

Most of today's wheel's, and all FF that I know of, are digital devices.

Hey gordo..I do have my settings set to standard gameport yet I cannot use
the generic. When I go to calibrate everything is blank. Strange like I
said..it works in gpl and N4. Curious on your thoughts...BTw it is plugged
into my Creative live value card.

I forgot to mention, In the settings box, you also have to uncheck the box
"poll with intrupts enabled". Also I have no other controllers listed. I
only have one controller on my list which I added manually. It was chosen as
a "2 axis 4 button race car controller". You must choose "custom" when
adding this controller. Hope it helps. If you still have problems, I suggest
you call TSW tech support. They helped me install and calibrate mine when I
first got it.

Don't worry too much about it. The only difference I noticed over the Direct
Input setting is the dead area off center is less noticable to me. When I
first got the wheel, I had a pretty bad dead spot off center. I played
around with different linear and steering ratio settings until I got rid of
most of it. But it's still there a little bit. A few years ago I went to
Daytona to watch the finals of the "WON" series championships. The
simulators they used had ECCI wheels and they let the public try out the
sims the day before the race. That ECCI was perfection. That spoiled me for
all other wheels after I tried the ECCI. Even the TSW doesn't match it. Too
bad they don't sell them anymore, as if I could afford one...lol

Same here David, thx for the effort though Gordo, much appreciated

And for the record, in previous Papy sims I've noticed a difference, not
a huge difference, but it somehow feels smoother with the generic Papy
driver and I kinda felt more comfy with it, oh well, starting to get
used to N2002 now

If you are using a digital controller, the Papy driver won't function.
