So vague you are...

That's like saying "I'm having a problem with my PC, anybody found a way
around?"  What exactly is the problem?

Sorry, just so upset,  The game will load do the movie  thing hang at the
splash screen. I have deleted and reinstalled from both drives 3 times, does
the same thing running off either drive.

Thanks
Morris

Probably not related, but have you tried the NoCD patch yet?

Well, finally just let it sit at that splash screen and low and behold 5min.
later
it finally goes in to the game. I must say
even running at 1280x960x32 and 4X FSAA the graphics are a big let down.
I still get avg. 36fps, but nothing comes close to looking as good and sharp
as HEAT. I am really disappointed so far.
Another weird thing is that i loaded it on my PIII800, with a 32 Geforce 2
and it loads 3 times faster and looks the same.

Ok, I downloaded it (and yes, I've bought the CD, I just despise this CP
nonsense).

I'm chicken-shit to launch it though :)  Could be a Trojan.

Anyone else actually run this program yet?

It's probably being caused by the copy protection and your DVD drive.
I've noticed that quite often the copy protected cdroms also cause the
video sequneces to play jerky and slow.

I'm afraid the AA is going to be your biggest draw. If you can live without
it you will be much faster.Thats probably why it took so long to load. Are
you using D3D or Open GL. Make sure you have V-Synch off as well. The
GeForce cards seem to run N4 best in Open GL. I also noticed it loaded slow
and I formatted and did a fresh OS reinstall and it cut the time ot load
from 2 minutes to about 20 secs.

Ok, don't know why but after I went in multiplayer and changed the
connection type off the modem that is no longer installed to tcp/ip the load
times is now
about 10 seconds, much more like it.

C'mon, dont be a wus!  Run it!!! It won't hurt a bit....     =:o

A virus checker will find....viruses, small parasite programs that
attach themselves to legitimate application .exe files.  A Trojan or
malicious .exe is a whole different critter and will NOT be detected by
a run of the mill virus zapper program.
