OK,
This is how I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong:
If you race online with the Need For Speed Underground demo,
and you have a fast computer,
and you set all your graphics as low as possible,
and you have someone host a race who has a significantly slower processor,
and you race against them,
your car will go insanely fast, with an average speed of 250 mph.

Anyone want to test this?

I have seen this kind of thing before. I ran a DTR/DTRSC league and the guys
with the slowest computers were always the fastest online.  One guy never
believed it for years until he finally upgraded his computer. The icing on
the cake was when one guy that usually finished last started smoking him.
lol.

I'd bet this kind of hardware induced performance (fast or slow) goes on
more than we know.

Heck, I hate to date myself, (and it's a little OT) but back in the
day, between marathon sessions of multiplayer Doom and Duke Nukem 3D
on DWANGO (id software's short lived online service) I would play
Terminal Velocity, a space flying simulator kind of like Descent 3.
DWANGO used to post the speed of your processor next to your name, so
after a while I knew that anyone with a faster cpu than mine could
easily fly rings around me and shoot me down. So I only played TV with
people who had slower cpus.  ;)
I think someone should take advantage of this and make a game that
REQUIRES the fastest kick ***computer to win, and post relative
computer performance ratings to back it up. "Dood! I'm rated at only
2.5 and I beat your 3.2!"
