I need to be cautious getting into the Cyrix v Intel battles again.
There have been a few discussions, already, and the Cyrix *was* coming
out on top for cost/performance (check some archives for more info) since
the latest sims did not use FPU, and therefore the Intel lost advantages.
BUT, and this may change with the full release (someone else might kno')
but the Nascar2 demo had Pentium specific code in it and could not run
on Cyrix chips. (I'll assume this is related also to the fact that the
Cyrix
reports itself as a *very* fast 486 when questioned). So, it depends,
and since I need an Intel for the other work I do, I don't even get to make
a choice.
