Dave Noonan: A quick question about Imola

by Marc Collin » Sun, 16 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Of course, let me first echo the tremendous thanks for all of your
work...this is another classic.  It's like a hilly, slightly curvier
Monza...a real pleasant track to drive and race.

My question is why the crowd of flagmen at the last turn?  I am lucky to
have a fast system, so I am not experiencing FR slowdowns or anything, but
was just wondering why there would be so many flag wavers at that area?  It
certainly looks odd as you race by, but I am sure there is a reason for it
:)

Thanks,

Marc.

Yeah, but will they go to ground as you go near them like the Italian
footballers do? :-)

Dave Noonan: A quick question about Imola

You do realise that you won't get a reply from Dave do you. I've never
seen a post from Dave, in fact a lot of people have questioned his actual
existence! I personally favour the theory that he works for Papyrus and
does tracks in his spare time, bestowing occasional gifts on the grateful
GPL community.

Still, I don't care so long as he keeps on producing great tracks:-)

Well, he had at least two posts this weekend on this forum about this
track piracy debacle. But he doesn't post often.

And BTW, he doesn't work for Papy, he's Geoff Crammond :) (Goy knows)

Indeed!

And is it just coincidence than Jan Kohl is in the UK now, himself? ;-)

Sure do, met him this weekend on a friendly pub somewhere in the UK, and
yes, he really IS Geoff Crammond, I saw his driving license as he paid
for the first round of beers......
