Nascar Racing 2003 1.2.0.1 loose steering around center problem?

Steering was OK in 1.0 version,but after I installed 1.2.0.1 patch my
steering wheel become loose around center.
It happens just  around center. It feels like FF is off, but just around
center of the wheel. I was looking in ini files but I found nothing. Does
anyone how  to make it more stiff around center?

Check and see if you have turned on Steering assistance.  This is one of the
side-effects.

I have the same problem as Marijan, and steering assistance is off.
