Logitech Wheel Problem

Hi Y'all

I have a Logitech Wingman Formula GP (the yellow one) and it does not have
it's own software. Any ideas on how to decrease the sensitivity as I find
the steering far to loose for my liking. I thought DXTweak may help, but I
have no idea how to use it so downloaded it and left it at that for now.

Am only managing 1:33's at Monza. It may be my average on the joystick, but
the car was all over the place with the wheel and I was almost sweating
trying to pull a lap like that out of my bubble butt!!

go to Logitech and download the software for the wheel  and adjust the
sensitivity  with the  Wingman Profiler.
hope this helps

Good idea Steve, but this device does not have any Logitech software, it
uses the standard MS provided Joystick drivers. Any idea if DXTweak would
solve problem & if so, how do I use it?

Steering's too "loose"?  Not sure what that means, but if your GPL settings
were optimized for a stick before, you might want to first try tweaking
things in GPL like linearity and steering ratio.  Closer to linear generally
works better with a wheel, and higher ratio numbers (20:1) will make the
steering less sensitive.  DXTweak can take you further, even with the
standard windows driver, but odds are that's not your problem.  But if you
do use DXTweak, look for the deadzone in your steering axis and reduce or
eliminate it.  With a deadzone and non-linear response curve, you have to
snap the wheel around a lot and end up oversteering.  You want smooth, even
response with a wheel.

Cheers,

Steve B.
