Logitech FF Wheel Problem

Logitech FF Wheel Problem

2 Questions...

1)  I just bought the Logitech Wingman Formula Force Feedback Wheel and
Pedal set.  When I go into the profiler, all the buttons and pedals test ok.
The wheel turns during the test feedback ground section, but the wheel turns
hard to the right and stops after each ground test is done.  Weird.  The
wheel turning test in the upper left of the Profiler does not register my
manual turning of the wheel.  WHY!!

2)  I am running Indycar Racing II by Papyrus (Sierra) under DOS and Windows
95.  My wheel is totally inoperative.  Is it because all Windows
applications shut down (including the wheel controls) to run the game?

I can play IRC2 under Win98. You just have to configure the LWFF in the
Logitech software that came with the wheel ( make a profile for ICR2 ). Or
better download the latest software form Logitech.

As for your first question, I can't help you. My first LFFW is somewhere on
a truck between the warehouse and me at the moment. Guess I'll be posting
here with questions soon. :)

As for your second, I can help you there, sort of. The answer is, it can't
be helped. The digital input of the LFFW is not supported by ICR2. Never
will be I'm afraid. You are, as they say on the streets, "Shit out of luck."

Ups, i missed the point of your post. You just have to tell IRC2 not to go
to clean DOS to run. With editing the Indycar.pif you can set Disable
detecting Windows or something like that and uncheck the MS-Dos mode ( or
something like that ). In other words you have to persuade IRC2 to run under
Windows instead of shutting Windows down and running in plain DOS.

P.S. I'm not in Win98 right now so i can't give you the exact instuctions
regarding setting the MS-Dos command prompt. Just hang on awhile.

Darrin,
sounds like a hardware fault.
I had a similar effect when reassembling my wheel (wrongly). In my case the poti
wasn't fitted into the wheel shaft properly.
Bring back the wheel and exchange.

Jens

BTW: Quality control seems to be unknown at Logitech these days.
