Logitech FF Wheel Problem

by David Piri » Wed, 26 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Can anyone help with my installation of my Logitech wheel, I have
installed as per instructions and cannot get the pedals to work. In the
Logi test panel everything checks out OK but in GPL I cannot get the
pedals to operate and have to use the paddles for throttle and brake.
Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.
Cheers David

I was having a problem with mine at first. Make sure you calibrate it first
in GPL and it should work. I was not able to get the brakes to work and I
re-calibrated and it worked ok the next time I tried to assign the
buttons....

Make sure they are set as "combined axis" in the control panel.

no no no... you don't want them set as combined axis, You want them separate
so that you can brake and use the throttle at the same time. If you have
them, combines, the half brake and half gas will make no brake and no gas,
with them uncombined, it will read in the game as half gas and half brake.

Oops, I thought he was talking about GP3...
Yeah, do the complete opposite of what I just said.
Doh.
Do you have a Wingman profile set up for GPL?  If not go to Alison Hine's
site and get one there.

Have you calibrated the wheel/pedals in GPL so it recognizes the the
different axis? After the calibration you should be able to assign the
throttle and brake to the pedals without problems. Btw use  separate axis in
GPL by unchecking the 'use combined pedals' in both Windows controller panel
as well as the wingman profiler! You will have much bettercar control with
dual axis. :)
