Well, in a certain point this is the case.
It is easy to lap around the track. Take per example : Atlanta. It's a
really easy track. I bet anybody here after 1 day can lap it over 180.
But check out the NROS at http://www.racesimcentral.net/;and try to constantly run
perfect laps for a full fuel fun at 185mph with 20humans around you.
So it's easy to be fast, but not easy to be always fast ;)
The stretch between being good and excellent is less than the others, but
it's as difficult as any other series in the world. Nigel Mansell once said
: "I never though oval racing was fun, but after my first race, all I can
say is those drivers are very good". (something like that, not exact
quotes).
