I would start out at Alison Hine's site and study the GPL FAQs.

Looks like your having the "good-old-glide" problem: You probably have Glide
v2.54 (shipped with your VooDoo card) installed. GPL has problems with this
one.

Two solutions:

1) Install the older Glide v2.53 (downloadable fromthe  fast lane,
http://www.the-fastlane.com/) and copy this dll into you GPL directory
(typically c:/sierra/gpl). This way only GPL uses the "older glide driver,
your other 3dfx based games keep using the newer 2.54 (which is installed in
the system directory of windows).

2) Update your current 3dfx drivers with the newest (glide v2.56) obtainable
from http://www.3dfx.com

I myself chose option 2) this way all programs benefit from a newer version
and in fact GPL looks a bit better using this one. (Be sure to remove the
current driver first (using the Control Panel->System->Drivers) before
installing this newer version)

Good luck,

Jan.
