GPL Newbie - Wow!

Hi Guys,
Finally tried out the GPL demo over the weekend. Having played a lot of GP2
and also F1RS, I was frustrated for quite a while at my lack of control of
the low grip, even using a TSW. However, I eventually (kind of) got the
hang of it and bought the game yesterday.

So now I've had a bit longer to evaluate it. Wow - what a simulation!
While I'm still learning consistent control (not controlling 4 wheel drifts
in the full spec cars around Monza at the moment - i.e. in the hedge half
the time!), the whole thrill of driving circa 1967 is just incredible!

Especially the tracks - it's so great to see the old -style Silverstone,
Monza and Monaco. I haven't tried out any other tracks, but Spa and The
Ring are just awesome! I only did one exploratory lap of The Ring in the
trainer car - must have taken me 15 minutes! Reminds me more of a Rally
course than a GP track! Dunno how I'm ever going to learn it...

Also did a couple of laps of Spa in the trainer, then tried the GP Ferrari!
Wow - even the engine noise terrified me, but when I got up to full speed
around the back of the circuit, I genuinely scared myself around some of
the flat-out kinks (especially the one where I lost it, clipped the bank at
150, flipped and smashed into a house wiping out a dozen bystanders...)!
What an amazing thrill and rush from a computer game!

Anyway, just my $0.02. I know I've got lots more to learn and a lot of fun
to come yet...
 - Gwyn.

Kylani is a cool track if you like flat out racing, as for Monaco, that one
is a hoot, and I still would love to hit the harbor after wiping out!
(SPLASH!)

Love Spa, and Silverstone... Monza is great too! Mexico City all I can say
is (watch out for the tires imbeded in the track at a couple points, and
Zandervoor is a kick tail track.... The Glen is also nice, but my favorite
is the Ring....especially going flat out, and grabbing major air in a couple
of areas....Also if you lose it, you can end up in the midddle of a cow
pasture after tumbling laterally 10 to 12 times!

Really kick ***action!

And when you get the multiplayer function running, well then you have a
whole new kettle of fish to fry (like your racing buddy!)

is it worth it??? ABSOLUTELY!
