GPL and Logitech Force Feedback - Feels Great

by The Thomas' » Wed, 24 Nov 1999 04:00:00

For those who are thinking of buying a force wheel over a conventional wheel
but not sure if it is worth it, let me tell you my experience.  I bought the
logitech wheel about three weeks ago from Costco for 129.00 Canadian ( real
cheap for this type of wheel).  I needed a new wheel since my trusty old
thrustmaster T1 was starting to give way.

After setting it up, I started a few games and found the force nothing
special.  It felt like a solid wheel with some movement when I hit a curb or
go into the sand, but again no biggie.  Then I thought I would try GPL again
since I never could play that well with my T1.  I heard many good things
from the newsgroup about the force in GPL and had nothing to lose.  Let me
tell you it was AMAZING.  Fantastic feel of the weight shifts the car was
doing.  Finally a game that gives a feel of how a car handles and not a
gimmicky rumble over bumps.

Since getting the wheel, all I play now is GPL and my times are going down
significantly.  It just feels great ripping around a long fast corner and
the wheel gets progressively stronger and stronger.  So cool.  Move your car
from side to side and feel the heavy weight shifts in the car.  Its the
best.  I now have been converted to a GPL fan and hope to be competitive
with some of the GPL gurus out there very soon.

FOR GPL, I give the Logitech a 9 out of 10.  The only thing that it lacks is
good pedals, but you can live with it.

As Jan (Verschueren) already welcomed another person: Welcome to the ranks of
the damned.
I'm afraid the so-called "Legends"-virus got you too!

It's not that bad as it sounds, it mostly has impact on your relatives: They
start forgetting how you looked like 8^)
