Hi all maybe someone can help me .i bought a thomas wheel a while back
and i can't make it stop jittering no matter what i try.a search on
google shows im not the only one that this has happened to. i called
dave thomas and he said that it was on my end so i hooked it up to my
other box still the same thing well he sent me some new pots to try
that was no help now im finding out that i need a lpdi card to stop
this but i have no isa slot so that want help me neither .now i would
like to know why in the world did'nt he tell me that to start
with(sure would have saved me a lot of trouble)so now im stuck with a
$400 dollar wheel that want calibrate with out jumping all over the
place.in gpl you can see the wheel twitching an also in all other sims
i have .my lwff dose not do this and is as smooth as the day i got it
two years ago and if it ever dies i will be screwed because they don't
make them with the steel cable any more. i went with the thomas wheel
because it was going to be easy to upgrade later on but if i can't
make it stop doing the jitter bug it is of no use to me at all.i would
not recommend that any one buy this wheel at all becase of this
problem. they should tell you that you need a extra card to make there
wheel work right. but instead they blame it on the end user.

The first place I start is to make sure that "Poll with Interrupts" on the
Game Controllers/Controller ID Assignment page is turned OFF.

Next, the SB Live generally has a very stable gameport, and the 50K Spectrol
pots used by TSW are of the highest quality... Just to discount a dodgy
gameport, maybe borrow a friends sound card and try it. The other option is
to use the Rockfire USB converter you can buy from TSW, but you'd haver to
upgrade your pots to 100K...

The other option is to take a look at this Gameport to USB Converter :-

http://www.racesimcentral.net/***s.com/products.htm

The cut-down Analog only controller is costly at US$99, but it claims to
solve jitter issues.

Sorry about your misfortune but this is the first time I've heard anyone
have a problem with a TSW product in 4 years.

I just ordered new potentiometers from TE yesterday that are supposed to
work better with the USB converter - better than the DK pots.  I also
ordered my USB converter directly from them since I know it will work.  You
might want to give them a call.

problem exist, and no, there's nothing he can do about it.  Well, not without a
PDPI card, which you guys can't use because of your mobo.  Uwe posts here
occasionally, so I'm sure he'll set me straight if I've messed up some facts...

man i uninstalled that game the tire model was all screwed up after
the patch.plus there were alot of bugs. there was to much grip in
places that should'nt be there and not enough grip in others.but the
ff was great.i just felt like it was another arcade game from ea and
not really a sim and i had a llot of trouble with the controllers.
the axis gas and brake in split axis would'nt work right i could get
them asigned but it only worked at half way so it made it hard to
judge the car with all aids off.

thanks alot

Most can, true.  Some can't.  Nelson's comment was that this was the first time
he'd heard of anyone having a problem.  I'm not sure if he's including
calibration issues in that or not - he might not have been looking for
those....

That's the same setup as me.  When you slect a track, you have to hold down the
brake pedal.  Hols it from the time you select "drive" until you're moving down
pit lane.  It should work then.  If not, let me know and I'll see if I can help
more.

What split axis issue in F1-2001? My 1996 TSW with 4-axes works just fine in
F1-2001...
