I have an old TSW (1996) that I added the clutch pedal to a few years back.
It has the axes as follows:

gas Joy1 Z-
brake Joy1 RZ+
clutch Joy1 Y+
steering Joy1 X+/X-

If I hold down the brake pedal while I'm firing up F1-2001, then this
arrangement works just fine. Same thing works properly in SCGT, GPL, GP3,
N4, DTR, Leadfoot, Viper, etc.

Yes - I have one.  I also have the Rockfire USB, and the Sim-***s
solution works like a dream. No jitter, maintains a high resolution.

I've only tested it with 100K pots, but technically it should work with any
pot range.

That's the same setup as me.  When you select a track, you have to hold down
the
brake pedal.  Holds it from the time you select "drive" until you're moving
down
pit lane.  It should work then.  If not, let me know and I'll see if I can
help
more.

Yea I have to hold my brake in until I hit the track. When I'm in the pit
garage I let go the brake and roll out. It works then.
I hold the brake from when I start the game til I'm in the garage.

Ok, good.  Glad I could help(if in fact I did<g>).  Although I find it hard to
believe that they didn't discover this problem in beta testing.  Or maybe they
did, but just didn't care - it happens in F12000, F1200CS, SBK2001, and now
F12001... :(

Don, I also have this huge jitter issue with my 1997 TSW2 and always have
with my SB Live! Gamer 5.1. I was lucky enough to get a PDPI and still use
it with my current rig. Using it in the SB Live! Gamer port made it
unplayable. It's one of the reasons I haven't upgraded my system since ISA
is becoming a dinosaur.  I guess I will be trying to get it to convert to
USB or get one of the sim-***s cards when I upgrade my system

Seymour

I'm a little confused about the sims-*** card. Would this be comparable
to a PDPI solution except it's PCI instead of ISA? I understand it converts
the analog to USB but can I also assume it uses a standard joystick
conneection?  I didn't see an order form on their site. Do you email them to
order?

Well if TSW wont stand behind their products and accept a return, I would
say we should not support this product and buy another comparible wheel that
does not have design problem and has better customer support

Have you called and talked with them? I think you'll find most owners of the
TSW line of wheels are very happy with theirs, and will attest that Thomas
offers great support.

Hmm, what kind of jitter are you on about? The seemingly random
up/down jumping when you calibrate the wheel under windows?
Have you tried the "generic" input driver that GPL offers?

Regards,

uwe

PS: I have had nothing but good experiences with TE, they do go
out of their way to help customers, IMHO.

the split axis issues are due to shoddy programming on the game
