It's comparable to the PDPI in many respects. It requires no drivers and
comes with no software (uses standard Microsoft HID drivers), and works
under Win9x/2k/XP. The card is standalone and sits externally from the PC.
It's really designed to be mounted inside your wheel or a housing that sits
between your wheel and the PC. It has a 15pin gameport connector so the TSW
will plug into it directly and a USB connection to the PC end. To order,
just email them.

One clarification - when I mean no software I mean Profiler etc. It's really
designed for sim/joystick developers who want to implement a USB solution
for their hardware, so it's their responsibility to implement the value-add
software like Profilers etc. It comes with some config software for setting
the card up. Check out www.sim-***s.com and read the literature for
yourself.

I don't know if you can TOTALLY blame TSW.  After all, I have the exact same
wheel, and it works just fine with my PDPI.  Would you also boycott Creative
Labs?  The problem only manifests itself with THEIR card...

Mine works fine, and I don't have any ISA slots on my system. I use a
PCI Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer 5.1

I recommend the wheel to anyone who is in the market for a nice piece of
hardware. I've had mine since 1996 and it's still as smooth as the day I
got it.. (Replaced the pots a few times through the years)

With the TSW warranty system, and great customer service, I'd imagine if
the wheel is still new, you could send it back and get your money back..
Hope you get it to work on your system, cause your missing out on a
great wheel otherwise! Mick

well i can't really say if the wheel is good nor bad. it is unusable
at the moment it takes big jump to the right left seems to be ok and
if you turn right it goes all at once new pots want fix it.when dave
sent me the pots he said it was probably on my end .well i put in the
pots still the same thing ,they knew about this but didn't tell me i
have tried everything but couldn't get it to stop.now i have to spend
another $100.00 buck's just to get there wheel to work right .i have
not had this problem with the other two wheel's i have.both are
logitech's one is non ff one is ff neither one jumps at all on the
same sb live card that i hooked the tsw to.for the money i have
already put in to this wheel i think it should have worked right out
of the box like all the other's no hidden cost's or fee's just plug it
in and it works.but the game card will fix it so all is not lost.

ps.when i found out that they knew this. and also that alot of others
have this same problem well that 's what got my goat.it's not the
wheel exactly it's the pots they use i guess.now i gottta tell my wife
i have to sink more money in to my gameing box hehehe

Hmm.

TSW2 Modified on a SoundBlaster Live Value and never had a problem.

Not trying to be a smartass but your posts are enough to give someone a
headache trying to read the run-ons without anything near proper punctuation
and capitalization.

TSW2 Modified on a SoundBlaster Live Value and have never had a problem
here.   Not saying your problem doesn't exist, but I haven't witnessed it on
my end.  I hope you find a solution as the TSW wheel is excellent.

Why can't you just send it back and get a refund? I'm not sure what pots
they use now a days, but I get mine from Digikey (# RV4NJ104C-ND)
They're 100K 2W Carbon and cost about 5 bucks each.. They are great pots
IMO..  That's all there is to an analog wheel/pedal system.. The
hardware just turns the pots..
The problem you describe sounds exactly like a bad pot.. The veering
while racing, along with the twitching while calibrating. So I can
understand why they wouldn't suggest that you needed to buy a new card..
But since your having a problem with it, you should just send it back
and get a refund.

Eldred,
Same here.. I have absolutely no problems with the TSW on my SB Live..
And neither do thousands of other people.. I've suggested that the guy
just send it back for a refund.. I've never heard a bad word mentioned
about TSW before this thread, so I would imagine they have a decent
return policy.. I know they have a lifetime warranty on the units
themselves..

I just saw where you said this happens on two separate PC's?? I'm
wondering, are you *positive* that it's not just a bad pot?? Have them
send you some new pots, before you spend any money on upgrading the game
card! Good Luck!
