Tsw2 - received mine today, my opinions

I know what you mean, My friend and I bought the Ecci CDS (Competition
Driving System) Steering wheel.  It is an excellent unit.  Quality and feel
is just amazing.  It feel more solid than the steering on a stand up arcade.
The unit is built in a stainless steel shell with aluminum bullet shafts and
ball bearing movements.  The steering wheel is made of suede and black
anodized aluminum.

I went through a set of T2 every month.  I used the CDS for over 18 months
without a problem

Tsw2 - received mine today, my opinions

Hi gang, just received my new TSW2 today from Thomas Enterprises. Wanted to
share my thoughts so far for anyone considering a new wheel.
The TSW2 is a new wheel and pedal set by Thomas E. It is based on the
original
TSW, which is well known amongst serious sim racers as a high quality
system.
I pre-ordered my TSW2 from Thomas' website, at an introductory offer of
180.00
The main difference between the two is the TSW uses a metal base, and
machined metal components. The TSW2 uses a wood base, and some machined
plastics components. Now, since I'm in the plastics business, I am familiar
with the plastics they used, and they are very good quality materials, and
should hold up very well where they've used them.
My first impression upon picking up the box was - dang, this thing is
heavy.
It is, and it is a very solid unit. I noticed there were no instructions,
well, didn't need any. I had my TSW2 hooked up and racing in 5 minutes. The
pedals connect to the wheel with a nice , easy, quick connect coupling. The
main wiring connects straight to the joystick port, no need for any
adapters.
I calibrated the wheel in win95 using the same T2 settings I had in
propanel.
I then started N2, and calibrated there with no problem.
I really like the clamping system of the wheel to the desktop, very fast,
and
very stable. The wheel is so heavy it would probably stay without a clamp,
but
the clamp just fills it out nicely.
The pedals are heavy as well, there will be no worrying about them crawling
around on the floor. At first I was a little concerned with the limited
throw
of the pedals, but adjusted to it quickly, and it is much more comfortable
on
my feet than the T2 pedals were.
I loaded up Atlanta with the fixed setups, and was running my reg lap
speeds
right away. The feel of the wheel and pedals are very smooth, this is a
nice
controller fellas.
Anyone that is serious about sim racing, and is in need of a new
controller,
should definitely take a look at the TSW2.
Didn't mean to sound like an adverti***t, I am just very impressed and
wanted to share it with y'all.
